The Chairman of Amazon and founder of Blue Origin launched Blue Moon, the Moon robotics lander (Lunar Lander) that will transport the supplies and building materials needed to build the United States’ first manned Moon base. At the same time, Bezos also revealed his Little Moon rover model.
Jeff Bezos may not be able to defeat Elon Musk on a mission to Mars. But, this Amazon boss can defeat the founder of SpaceX on a mission to the Moon.
“This vehicle is heading to the Moon,” Bezos of Blue Moon said during an exclusive presentation to select media executives and the space industry quoted from IBTimes on Sunday (05/12/2019).
With a large monitor that displays the Blue Moon animated video, Bezos marks the specifications and capabilities of its lunar lander robot. He revealed Blue Moon had been working on the lunar lander for the past three years.

The Amazon boss described the Blue Moon as a large lander that could land on the ground precisely, 3.6 metric tons on the Moon’s surface. Stretch variants from Blue Moon can land 6.5 metric tons. He claimed this heavy equipment could carry various loads, including four inventors of the Little Moon Blue Origin.
Specifically, Blue Moon will be powered by a high-performance liquid hydrogen engine, which will help a lot when landing on the Moon. Bezos also said that using liquid hydrogen as fuel would allow them to get hydrogen from water on the Moon to refuel.
Blue Moon will use Lidar to detect surface features on the Moon to land safely. The Lander itself aims to support the US government’s efforts to return to the Moon in 2024.
“I like this. We can help fulfill the deadline but only because we started three years ago. It’s time to go back to the Moon, it’s time to stay,” Bezos said.
