Beat Saber is a VR rhythm game with a basic looking animated visual track and moving cubes marked with different arrow symbols. You can feel the ambience of the visual and its music while moving you hands along the rhythm with two lightsabers. You can’t just blindly move around, you need to follow the rhythm and moving your lightsabers according to the arrow that shows up in the colour cubes.
The teaser that’s posted on twitter long ago went viral and was retweeted many times. As a result, Beat Saber become more popular.
The lead developer, Ján Ilavský, initially came up with the idea after tasting the disappointment from buying HTC Vive. He seemed to be dissatisfied by the said rhythm game, so he wanted to create something similar but with a more action to link the satisfaction of the player.
Not only that, it’s interesting enough that Beat Saber has some mods to change the visual track image or to change the saber’s model. In the early making, it was supposed to be two swords instead of lightsabers, but because Ilavský felt that the players would enjoy it less, he changed it to lightsabers. Beat Saber is like arms exercise instead of legs, while riding on a catchy music up to your taste.
