iPad Photoshop

Adobe is bringing its “real” Photoshop to the iPad, not the mobile or lite version, but its full Photoshop like the desktop one. This was revealed by Adobe representatives in a creative conference entitled “MAX”, in Los Angeles, United States.

Essentially, the desktop and mobile version of Photoshop still has the same function; it gives you lots of tool for photo editing purpose. Yet, the desktop version boasts more powerful and complete experience in photo editing.

The simplest case is, the desktop version of Photoshop is able to sustain a lot more layers than the lite version. It’s because the mobile device performance isn’t as powerful as a desktop computer.

Presumably, the iPad is considered capable to sustain a profesional-scale editing capabilities close to a desktop computer, thus Adobe dare to bring a “real” Photoshop to the Apple tablet.

Certainly, there will be a difference in its handling, where its UI will be redesigned to adjust with the iPad touchscreen. Nevertheless, its performance will be the same.

Automatic Synchronization

File integration from the iPad and desktop ensured to be seamless. Both use the same coding and will save its projects as .psd format.

“Anything you do on the iPad is seamlessly synced to the desktop, so you can now use the best device for the task you want to accomplish with no compromises. No exporting, importing, converting to different formats, or fixing whatever didn’t properly convert. It all just seamlessly works.” said Adobe Photoshop product manager, Pam Clark, reported by TheNextWeb. (10/15/2018)

Aside from launching its real Photoshop on the iPad, Adobe is also working on a new drawing app called “Project Gemini”. Built from Photoshop, the app is designed to sync with Photoshop, and you can import your brushes from Photoshop as well.

Both Photoshop for iPad and Project Gemini will be available some time in 2019. Since Adobe specified the app was coming “first to iPad,” there’s a chance it could be available for Android devices at some point in the future.
