It’s actually a straightforward process. First open up YouTube from your browser. Next, look for the video whose footage you want to make into a GIF.
Next, you can choose which snippets from the video that will be used as GIFs. There is also an option to add stickers and other effects if desired.
Press the green colored check icon on the lower left side of the site interface to see the final preview for the GIF.
Once you’re satisfied, press the “Create GIF” button on the top right side of the site interface. You will be asked to fill in the GIF title, after that press “Next” for the next process.
There are two options to choose; first, switch to premium to remove watermarks on GIF for $8 per month, or use the service for free, although you have to bear with the watermark on your custom GIF. New-users can try free premium trials for a week.
After proceeding, you can choose to emb your GIF, paste direct link to share it, or download to save it for later. Users are free to download uncompressed or compressed GIF after signing up.
Gifrun.com also provides a similar service. The method of converting video to GIF is more or less the same, namely by copying the URL of the YouTube video to the site, then selecting the duration of the snippet to be used as a GIF, and finally download the result.
