Hello Games has announced a free update following No Man’s Sky, titled No Man’s Sky: Beyond due for Summer 2019.
Here is an overview of the update, via No Man’s Sky Official Website:
We realize that there is a great deal of yearning out there for news and updates on No Man’s Sky. We decided to share some data from behind the scenes.
Our next chapter will be called No Man’s Sky: Beyond, coming Summer 2019.
Every section for No Man’s Sky has been more fruitful than the last. On account of our community, NEXT our large release a year ago was especially so. It proceeded to bring enjoyment to a huge number of new players, and it changed the legacy of this game we care so much about.
Prior this year, whilst working on our roadmap of three future updates, we decided we wanted to entwine their features, and had a goal for something significantly more impactful.
We are delighted to announce that Beyond will contain those three noteworthy updates rolled into one larger free update.
The first main part of Beyond we are reporting today is No Man’s Sky Online.
No Man’s Sky Online incorporates a radical new social and multiplayer experience which engages players wherever in the universe to meet and play together. While this unites individuals more than ever, and has numerous recognizable online components, we don’t view No Man’s Sky as an MMO – it won’t require a subscription nor micro-transactions, and will be free for all existing players.
These progressions are a response to how we have seen individuals playing since the release of NEXT, and is something we’ve envisioned for quite a while.
We will announce progressively about each component when we know we can be precise, and anticipate to sharing more in the coming future.
Beyond will be our most ambitious chapter up until this point, and something we’ve been buckling down on. We’ll keep on supporting No Man’s Sky in this way for a long time to come.
It’s unforeseen however so rewarding to see such huge numbers of accolades and nominations for No Man’s Sky as Best On-going or Most Evolved for this present year. To some NEXT may have felt like a natural ending for our adventure, however for us it was another progression on a longer voyage.
Thank you so much,Sean, from Hello Games
