Spotify is rumored to be testing the new music listening feature called “Social Listening”.
As summarized from Tech Radar, Social Listening feature is a feature that allow several Spotify users to be able to enjoy music together, just like a private radio station.
Jane Wong is a technology blogger who discovered Spotify is testing this new feature.
According to Jane, to be able to enjoy and take advantage of the Social Listening feature, users must scan a unique code or link to collaborate and listen to music with other users.
After the Social Listening feature is activated, users will be presented with a list called Already Connected. In addition, the Now Playing user interface will display the number of users currently listening to the same music.
Is Social Listening Available Now?
This new Social Listening feature is reported to be limited to Spotify technicians as of now, so general users will not be able to find it in stable applications, both in versions for Android devices, as well as for iOS devices.
Previously, Spotify tested a similar feature in Stories, a format that was popularized by social media such as Snapchat and Instagram, called Storyline.
The aim of Spotify to try the new feature is so that musicians can share inspiration and extra information about when they make a song.
