Google’s Strict Policy
Google have been known for their mass deletion towards several applications created by a big Android developer from China. This happened due to several application developers have been proven fraud through the advertisements and hiding the details regarding the application owner from the users.
This case could be revealed because of the investigation held by the BuzzFeed News. The developer of DO Global application, most of their stocks are owned by Baidu; it already become one of Google’s target.
DO Global have proven to produce a fake advertisement to increase their income and another act of frauds.
“We are obligated to protect every users and truthful advertisers against fraudsters and global application abuse,” said the Google’s Spokesperson according to The Verge.
“We are actively investigating every frauds. When we find it, we will immediately take actions; including the eliminating the ability of developers to monetize their applications through the AdMob.”

Google’s Work, According to BuzzFeed
According to the investigation held by BuzzFeed News, there are 46 applications from DO Global developer that have been taken down from the Play Store. Besides, BuzzFeed News also found out that the applications created by DO Global have no longer offer the advertisement inventories for purchase through the AdMob Google network.
Before those applications taken down by Google, one of the biggest application developers in China called DO Global already have approximately 100 applications on Play Store with more than 600 million download counts.
The deletion of 46 applications created by this developer marked as the biggest mass application takedown happened and done by Google. DO Global itself is a subsidiary company of Baidu.
DO Global immediately released their statements to respond the BuzzFeed’s report and they deeply apologize for the fraud on their produced applications. DO Global also stated that they accept Google’s decision to take their applications down from the Google Play.
“First, we would like to thank BuzzFeed for the article they have made. We are fully understand about the accusation. Thus, after we read the reports about our applications, we immediately do the internal investigation about this,” said the DO Global Spokesperson, according to BuzzFeed News.
“We deeply apologize for the deviation found in several AdMob advertisements in our products. We fully understand and accept Google’s decision. Moreover, we also actively cooperate with them by doing a thorough investigation to every applications involved.”
Before this happened, Google was known to delete at least 6 applications developed by DO Global that indicated to do fraud towards advertisements last week. Those applications were registered on Play Store by using the generic developer’s name, called Pic Tools Group and Photo Artist Studio. The specification of these applications’ developer were not available.
According to Google, this is one of the violation of Google Play Store guidelines because they don’t provide the information of the application’s developer. Beside the applications created by DO Global, 20 applications by Do Global Games and 14 applications by Applecheer Studio have also been deleted by Google.
