Google has just upgraded their Lens for Android and iOS applications. This update includes new lens filters.
What is Google Lens?
Google Lens is a tool based on artificial intelligence (AI) computer vision that is able to analyze photos, recognize objects in it, and retrieve the corresponding information from objects on the photos.A
According to Phone Arena on Wednesday (05/29/2019), a set of ‘dining filters’ and a new translation feature will be launched to Google Lens users on iOS and Android with ARCore support. New filters will be available by accessing Lens in Google Assistant, Photos, and Search.
However, Pixel users will find Google Lens implemented directly in the camera application. So what is the actual function of the two new filters Lens?
Two Neat Upgrade: Google Lens New Filters
First, the ‘dining filter’ will allow you to direct the phone to the menu. Lens will highlight the most popular dishes listed or offer food details as well as in-depth photos from Google Maps restaurant profiles, just like the magical Hogwarts Portrait.
The translation filter will allow Lens users to take pictures of signs in foreign languages to translate. This feature has indeed been offered on Google Translate, but Lens offers a lighter version.
These updates are expected to be available soon on all platforms this weekend.
